Types of Silver Bullion Coins

Silver bullion coins are made of pure silver. If you are interested in buying silver coins, there are a lot of silver bullion coins to choose from. Due to the number of silver coins available, some mint companies have made a slight change to silver coins. Bullions are made of 0.999 fine silver, the weight of it is one Troy ounce. The weight and also the purity of the coins may differ depending on the design of the mint.

There is the Canadian Maple Leaf silver coin that is produced by The Royal Canadian Mint. The Maple Leaf silver coin is minted with 0.9999 fine silver. The Mexican Libertad belongs to a group of silver bullion coins that is larger than the average silver bullion coin. It is considered the heaviest silver bullion coin among its group. Because of its size, the details are very visible. It is very beautiful and can be one of the collector’s most treasured items.

Chinese Panda coins also come in different sizes. The five ounce Chinese Silver Panda coin, although no longer available, is still listed the New Zealand Mint’s online store.

Buying Silver Bullion Coins

If you want to buy silver coins, it is highly recommended that you only purchase through a mint or a reputable dealer. This is to ensure the authenticity of the silver coins.  Due to the demand and the value of silver, the coins are typically not sold directly to the public, but require the help of a dealer.

In conclusion, buying silver coins is a very good investment because the value of these coins does not depreciate and neither is the value affected with inflation. The value of silver bullion coins may remain stable or it may even appreciate.
